BINASA
An intimate celebration of love
Binasa and Yosef’s wedding was an intimate gathering with family and lifelong friends. Designing a gown for Binasa, my dear friend, was a journey inspired by her bold, ambitious spirit. She’s always known what she wants—whether in her career, her relationships, or her vision for her wedding day.
decisions on the design.
With an athletic build, Binasa envisioned a gown highlighting her waist while flowing gracefully over her hips. A nod to cultural values, while still radiating simplicity and elegance.
To create her ideal look, I designed a structured, boned corset for a beautifully snatched wedding dress look. Exposed boning added a modern touch, while a gathered underbust seam lined with a string of pearls softened the look.
For a unique twist, I replaced the skirt's side seams with curved, pearl-lined panels that flowed from the front hem, up over her hips, and down her backside, extending into a 1.5 metre train. This design added movement and drape without clinging, achieving a graceful silhouette that was modest and striking.
Pearl buttons on the sleeves and a draped cowl back neckline completed the look.
Final notes
Watching Binasa walk down the aisle, confident and radiant, was unforgettable. Her gown was more than fabric—it was a true reflection of her: strong, graceful, and uniquely her.
Thank you, Binasa, for honouring me with a unique perspective on your wedding day xx
